In 2013, Habitat for Humanity of Kent County was presented with the opportunity to acquire a 5.5-acre plot of land in the heart of the Roosevelt Park community. Plaza Roosevelt is a neighborhood-focused collaborative development project designed to address the social determinants of health by improving access to affordable housing, healthcare, education, and economic opportunities for the Roosevelt Park Neighborhood.
Key Deliverables
Engaged Key Stakeholders Throughout the Project: Devised a partnership engagement strategy that facilitated collaboration among 10 community organizations, including Mercy Health, Dwelling Place, Ferris State University, and Grand Rapids Public Schools.
Developed a Community Relationship Reparation Plan: Created a plan aimed at mending relationships between community organizations and neighborhood residents to foster trust and cooperation.
Tracked Project Status, Goals, Action Steps, and Deliverables: Monitored and documented the project's progress to ensure alignment with community needs and achieve desired outcomes.
